Neighbourhood Planning Regulation 14 Public Consultation – Aberford Neighbourhood Development Plan
In accordance with Neighbourhood Planning Regulation 14, Aberford and District Parish Council is undertaking a public consultation and would like to invite comments from organisations and individuals on its Pre-Submission Neighbourhood Development Plan.
The public consultation runs from Friday 7th July until Friday 18th August 2017.
Proposed Aberford Neighbourhood Development Plan
Aberford and District Parish Council has produced a Neighbourhood Development Plan which covers the majority of the parish of Aberford and District, with the exception of the former Sturton Grange Civil Parish area to the south of the M1 motorway. The Plan contains a vision for Aberford along with a set of aims, planning policies and proposals and community actions to achieve the vision. The planning policies within the Plan seek to protect the character of Aberford, with policies guiding new development, notably for housing and in the event of the proposed Parlington New Settlement coming to fruition, as well as protection policies relating to the green environment (including local greenspaces), built heritage and community facilities.
Following this consultation, the Plan will be amended and then submitted to Leeds City Council, as required, for a further Regulation 16 consultation and independent examination. The Plan, if successful at examination, will then proceed to a local referendum. If the Plan receives a majority vote the City Council will then adopt the plan which will then become part of the statutory development plan – the Local Plan – for the Leeds District. Any planning applications submitted within the boundary will be determined in accordance with this plan.
Aim of this consultation
This consultation seeks views on the content of the proposed Aberford Neighbourhood Development Plan, together with the supporting Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) Screening Report.
