WWI Centenary Event – Thank You
The members of Aberford & District Parish Council would like to thank everyone who helped with and attended the Aberford WWI Centenary event held on 9th November. There was a great turnout and the local choir, the Village Harmonies Choir, sang songs which people happily joined in with and everyone there enjoyed the event. One resident said:
“The Centenary event was excellent! I enjoyed the tea dance and the choir, lots of people got dressed up in clothing from the era, and I thought the information displayed about the fallen soldiers from the village was very good. There was a great turnout and it was a credit to everyone involved.”
Thanks again to all involved and all in attendance.
Thank you also to everyone who knitted the poppies, helped to put them up, took them down, and are now storing them, that were displayed for the Centenary.
Lest we forget
