Leeds Local Areas 20mph Speed Limit Programme – LCC Consultation

Leeds City Council is currently running a consultation, SL3418 Harewood Ward 20mph Scheme, until 12 noon on 08.04.19.

The scheme’s proposals cover Aberford, Bardsey, Barwick in Elmet, Collingham, Scholes, Shadwell and Thorner.

Whilst the parish council is in favour of the proposals to reduce the speed limit on the stretch of Main Street by the school, it has raised concerns previously over some of the proposals, in particular relating to the short cul de sacs on which speeds in excess of 20mph are unattainable, as well as the costs involved and the numerous signs and road markings that will be required if the scheme goes ahead. A formal response raising these concerns again will be submitted by the parish council by the deadline.

Residents are encouraged to submit comments to the consultation, whether in support of all/part of the scheme or against all/part of the scheme. These should be submitted either by post or email to:

  • Post: Mr J Levine, Development Team, Legal Services, Civic Hall, Leeds, LS1 1UR
  • Email: legal.development@leeds.gov.uk

You should specify the grounds on which your objection or representation is made, and quote ref: A76/JL/SL3418-Aberford.

The deadline for submitting comments is 12 noon on 08.04.19.
