Following the news of the death of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, the Parish Council would like to extend our condolences to Her Majesty the Queen, and the whole Royal Family at this very sad time.

Leeds City Council have also issued a statement which you can view here.

On Friday 16th April, a recorded Civic service of remembrance at Leeds Minster will be available on the council’s YouTube channel from 6pm. Led by the Rector of Leeds, The Reverend Canon Sam Corley, and with a sermon by the Anglican Bishop of Leeds, The Right Reverend Nick Baines, the service will be attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, the Lord Mayor of Leeds and the Leader of the Council. Watching the recording will provide an opportunity for people and communities across Leeds to reflect on the Duke of Edinburgh’s life and to give thanks for his decades of service to The Queen, the nation and the Commonwealth.

A national minute silence will be held at 3pm on the day of the funeral, with the public advised to do this within Covid rules and without gathering in groups.
