Public consultation on 2024/25 school admission policy

Leeds City Council have started a 6-week consultation on their 2024/25 admission policy for Leeds community and voluntary controlled schools.   The 100 community and voluntary controlled schools this consultation is for are listed in the consultation information on their website.

170 Leeds schools are academies, voluntary aided, foundation and free schools. These schools all consult on and set their own admission policy, so this consultation doesn’t apply to any of those schools.

LCC advise that they are proposing;

  • Changes to 95 primary school catchment areas – you can see a maps of the new proposed catchment area at  www.leeds.gov.uk/SchoolAdmissionsConsultations
  • Changes to the coordination scheme, including moving the date applications open for year 7 places from 1 August to 1 September each year. This aligns when the round opens with the mandatory coordination duty which ends on 31 August, and the point when applications become in-year on 1 September.

LCC also have an online survey for you to share your views. The closing date for responding is 7 December 2022. Find out more at  www.leeds.gov.uk/SchoolAdmissionsConsultations
