Aberford Village Hall will be part of a national campaign which celebrates England’s 10,000 village halls.
Celebrating in style, our Village Hall will have an open day on Friday 24th January. The open day is free to all and will showcase the hall’s activities and facilities. Local MP Alec Shelbroke and Ward Councillors Matthew Robinson, Ryan Stephenson & Sam Firth will also be in attendance to show their support for Aberford.
David Gluck, Chair of the Village Hall Committee, said “Our village hall is a vital part of our community. So many facilities have fallen by the wayside in Aberford over recent years, but our hall remains a great place and space for people to come together and enjoy themselves – use it, it’s yours…we just look after it for you!!”
Village Halls Week is run by national rural charity Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) and their 38 member organisations, and Community First Yorkshire is the local member supporting village halls and community buildings. It takes place from Monday 20 January – Sunday 26 January.
