Village Hall AGM – Tuesday 17th December 2019, 7.45pm

The 2019 Aberford Village Hall Annual General Meeting will take place in the hall on Tuesday 17th December at 7.45pm.

Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend, listen and contribute, and free refreshments will be offered to all.

Christmas Bin Collections

Please note the changes to bin services over Christmas and the New Year 2019/20, as advised by Leeds City Council:

If your normal bin day is: Your Christmas collection days and dates will be:
Monday Sunday 22nd December; Monday 30th December
Tuesday Monday 23rd December; Tuesday 31st December
Wednesday Tuesday 24th December; Thursday 2nd January
Thursday Friday 27th December; Friday 3rd January
Friday Saturday 28th December; Saturday 4th January
Saturday Sunday 29th December; Sunday 5th January

Please put your bin out by 7am on your collection day and bring it in again as soon as possible after emptying.

Christmas Lights Switch On – Friday 6th Dec 2019

The festivities for this year’s Christmas Lights will begin at 6pm with the lights being switched on at 7pm, on Friday 6th December 2019.

The switch on, which will take place at Pump Hill, will include a visit from Santa, and The Village Harmonies Choir, led by Ms Jacqueline Jeffrey, will be in The Arabian Horse singing carols and Christmas songs.

Everyone is welcome, the more the merrier!  We hope you enjoy the festivities!

The Parish Council would like to thank Community Illuminations Aberford for their contributions of time and funds to this year’s event, and looks forward to working together in future years.

Neighbourhood Plan – Declaration of Result of Poll

It is with great pleasure the members of Aberford and District Parish Council announce that, following the referendum that took place on 31.10.19, more than half of voters voted in favour of the Aberford Neighbourhood Plan, and the Plan has therefore now been made. This means the Plan is now part of the development plan in the determination of planning applications in Aberford.

Turnout was confirmed at 27.7%, with 86.7% of voters voting in favour of the Plan.

Members would like to thank all who have been involved in the Plan over the last eight years, and thanks also go to everyone who was able to vote at the referendum.
